Back-To-School Mums Flock to Affairs Site

Be it back-to-school blues, or the terrible summer weather, IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating agency, has experienced a boom in young married women seeking affairs this week.

The website, which has been running since 2003, has received around 400 female profiles a day since Monday – double the usual daily rate of 200. The number of unique female users each day has eclipsed the number of male users two-fold, and administrators say that this September is already looking like it will be the busiest month in the site’s history.

In addition to the findings, IllicitEncounters.com also stated that the age of its female members is decreasing. In 2004, when the wesbite had been open just a year, the average age of female members was around 39. Over the last 2 years however, this number has dropped to just 35, suggesting that younger and younger women are embracing the idea of extramarital relationships.

Sara Hartley, representative from IllicitEncounters.com, suggests that, as with previous years, the new school year is always characterised by increased female activity on the site; “When the kids go back, our older female members take the opportunity to log back on and reengage with their secret lives once more. For newer female members, the motivation comes from a similar place; they have spent months waiting hand and foot on their children, and co-ordaining stressful family get-togethers. Joining IE is simply a way for them to relish their new-found freedom, and do something where their needs no longer take a backseat.”

The weather hasn’t helped either; “This summer has been pretty dismal,” says Sara. “No sunshine means couples are far less happy and more irritable, therefore more likely to become stressed and frustrated in their relationship. Pressure also mounts when those feeling the crunch are forced into taking staycations. 2 weeks under each other’s feet in a dingy local hotel is not usually a recipe for passion!”

IllicitEncounters.com has in excess of half a million members across the UK and Ireland.
